This Is For You If…

Not everyone is meant for the road most traveled.

If you've ever sat in the middle of a perfectly ordinary life and felt like a total stranger in it — you already know what The Uncommon Road is about.

This isn't a wellness brand selling you an aspirational version of yourself. It's a community for people who are done with inspiration porn, done with toxic positivity, and ready for something real. Practical. Honest. Built on decades of actually living this way.

If that sounds like relief to you, welcome.

Who is Blue Cobalt

For over 15 years, home was almost always a vehicle. A VW Jetta in LA and onward. Then a converted van up and down the West Coast, and across to the Southeast. Then a converted shuttle bus parked outside Sedona under the stars. The entire time — 23 years now and counting — 100% raw vegetarian. Not as a philosophy to preach about. Just as a way of life.

Blue Cobalt has been a documentary filmmaker, a meditation teacher, a raw foods chef, a sustainable clothing designer, a nomad, a seahorse steward, a caregiver, and a builder of small unconventional businesses that come from the heart. The Uncommon Road is what happens when all of that finally becomes one thing. 💙

The Four Pillars

Mindfulness

Not a technique to master. Not an app. Not something you failed at because your mind wouldn't stop. Mindfulness, practiced honestly, is simply the ongoing act of waking up to your own life — and it asks nothing of you except your willingness to be present with what's actually here. Blue has practiced, taught, and lived this for over two decades, across traditions and without dogma. What you'll find here is grounded, practical, and completely free of spiritual bypassing.

Raw Foods

Twenty-three years. Every meal, every road, every circumstance (well almost, but we'll talk about that later). Raw vegetarian eating isn't a trend Blue arrived at recently — it's the longest continuous thread in a long and unconventional life. Not fanaticism. Not perfection. Just honest, practical knowledge about what actually works for them, what doesn't, and how to eat this way in the real world — whether you're curious about where to start, want to add some healthier eating in your diet, or you've been raw for years and want company on your road.

Conscious Living

Living consciously isn't about doing everything right. It's about doing things on purpose — making choices that actually reflect who you are rather than who the world assumed you'd be. It means building a life with intention: your food, your time, your space, your relationships, your ethics, your work. The beautiful parts and the hard parts both. No highlight reel. No pretending. Just the ongoing, sometimes messy, genuinely worthwhile practice of living like you mean it.

Authentic Being

This is where the other three lead. Clear your mind, nurture your body, feed your soul — and eventually you arrive here: a life that is unmistakably yours.

Not the life you were handed, or the one that was expected of you, or the one that looked good on paper. Authentic being is the quiet, radical act of becoming — and staying — exactly who you are. It's the hardest pillar and the most important one.

The Philosophy

Most people never stop to ask whether the life they're living is actually the one they'd choose. Not because they don't care — but because the question is uncomfortable, and the alternatives seem impossible, and nobody around them seems to be asking it either.

This is for the people who are asking.

Not with a roadmap or a set of answers. Not with a system to fix you or a version of yourself to become. Just with the honest company of someone who has been asking this question for decades, and has found that the asking itself — more than any answer — is what makes a life feel real.

The underlying philosophy behind The Uncommon Road is that you can trust your own perception of reality over the consensus version that most people inherit without questioning. You can build a life from the inside out rather than following external blueprints, be authentically unique, have a much richer experience, and find the life that was actually waiting for you.

The Uncommon Community

Some people find The Uncommon Road and feel, for the first time in a while, like they've landed somewhere that makes sense.

If that's you — come find us. Join us on YouTube, Facebook, or wherever you spend your time online. The community is just beginning, and the people finding their way here are exactly the kind of people who have spent years looking for their people.

That's changing.
